How Figured Out Came About
Shelly Berger, the proud owner, and founder of Figured Out, is a wife and mother of two. She has a passion for developing people and things to their fullest potential and will fiercely support anyone on that journey.
Her academic journey spans three diverse fields —pharmaceuticals, facilities management, and accounting. Shelly is currently working towards her fourth qualification, in business management, Shelly’s relentless pursuit of knowledge fuels her desire to empower others.
Together with her husband, JP, they own Ausum Cleaning, a specialist deep cleaning company that they built from ground zero over 10 years ago.
With more than a decade of first-hand experience in what it takes to run, manage, and grow a business, Shelly has developed a skill set that she now uses to empower other small business owners on their journey to success.
Figured Out was born amidst the COVID-19 pandemic that ravaged our beautiful country and the world.
During a heartfelt conversation with her husband, Shelly shared her profound sadness that stemmed from witnessing the devastating impact of the lockdown on numerous self-started small businesses. In this casual chat with JP, she realized that the primary reason these businesses had to shutter wasn’t arrogance on the owners’ part but rather a lack of awareness about their financial situations, leading to insufficient financial management and planning. Shelly became convinced that with better financial structures and an accountability partner, these small businesses might have navigated through the lockdown and revived their ventures once COVID restrictions eased. Thus, Shelly’s vision became clear—to create financial awareness, implement structures, and provide support for small businesses.
Figured Out emerged as the manifestation of this vision, aiming to empower and guide small businesses toward sustainable financial practices.
